SACN’s report on infant feeding was published on the 17/07/18: The Scientific Advisory Committee on Nutrition (SACN) report on feeding in the first year of life .There is a specific chapter of interest on oral health – Chapter 8 from page 74.

Overall the recommendations are that babies exclusively breastfed until around 6 months of age and continue to be breastfed for at least the first year of life. Solid foods should not be introduced until around 6 months to benefit the child’s overall health.
