On behalf of BDA
#CDSWeek24
The British Dental Association is aware that not everyone is aware of the role of CDS dentists however many of you will already know that they make up a crucial part of the dental workforce, delivering care for some of the most vulnerable patients in our society.
The BDA have devised the idea of a CDS Week for England #CDSWeek24, with the aim of securing greater recognition and appreciation of the role of dentists who work within the CDS. The week signals the start of their endeavour to spotlight CDS dentists, recognise the challenges they face and, most importantly, campaign for solutions.
The BDA hope to raise their profile in terms of the critical role they fulfill for a variety of patients, to set out how a career in the service can be rewarding if the right resources are provided, and to illustrate why they are a such a critical part of the wider NHS workforce.
BDA have set out the immediate and long-term actions which all parties involved with community dentistry must deliver, covering areas such as waiting list transparency, commissioning, workload, and pay and conditions.
The CDS week hub is now live on The British Dental Association website: https://www.bda.org/what-we-do/campaigns-and-advocacy/cds-week/.
