The 43 Places joining wave one of the National Neighbourhood Health Implementation Programme (NNHIP), covering at least one Place in every new ICB footprint, have been announced by the Secretary of State.
Each of the sites will be allocated a national coach who will work with them to accelerate neighbourhood health for their local population and spread learning, with an initial focus on improving outcomes for adults with long term conditions and rising risk.
All Places are asked to continue to progress the great work they are doing. Support is available via a new national community of practice, with all Places encouraged to join.
Planning framework for the NHS in England
NHS England has published the Planning framework for the NHS in England, which is a guide for local leaders responsible for shaping medium-term plans.
The document provides clarity on roles and responsibilities within the context of the new NHS operating model, outlined in the 10 Year Health Plan. It sets out core principles and key planning activities, which should be adapted based on local needs and circumstances.
It will help deliver the ambition for integrated, place-based care while maintaining clear lines of statutory accountability. As new ways of working take shape (Neighbourhood Health Providers and Integrated Health Organisations), it will continue to be developed.
