Now available from the Primary Care Bulletin – NHS 111 dental triage updates
Work to align dental pathway dispositions with national unscheduled care guidance has been completed, enabling commissioners to align providers within the Directory of Service (DoS) to the updated dispositions.
During the final implementation phase, taking effect from 21 September – 30 October, patients experiencing minor dental bleeding may now be directed to routine care rather than unscheduled care. These patients will receive the new outcome DX221 – Dental Routine. While NHS Pathways does not specify a timeframe for this outcome, a 14-day search period has been added to DoS to identify suitable dental providers. Patients will be given details of nearby practices and will arrange appointments directly.
