It is flu time again and there is some information about vaccinations. It is encouraged that this is promoted to staff, patients, family, friends, etc.. Posters are available that can be downloaded and displayed in surgeries, which is recommended.
The groups who are entitled to have flu vaccinations for free are listed in the document below. As always, this group includes children (2-10 years), carers and those in “at-risk” groups (please seepage two in the document provided below for the full list). The flu vaccination is still available to others, however they will be required to pay for it.
It is also highlighted that residential care home staff are entitled to free vaccinations this year. They will need to take some form of identification as evidence that they work in a care home setting – e.g. pay slip or ID badge – to any pharmacy and will get it for free. Dental professionals who have contact with care homes are encouraged to pass on the message and encourage managers in these care homes to promote it to their staff.
