Death certification reform and medical examiners
From 9 September 2024 all deaths in any health setting that are not investigated by a coroner will be reviewed by NHS medical examiners. The changes, which form part the new Death Certification Reforms, were announced by the government on 15 April 2024.
COVID-19 spring vaccination campaign
COVID-19 vaccination bookings opened this week for those aged 75 and over and those with a weakened immune system, with appointments available from 22 April. Bookings can be made online via the NHS App or by visiting the NHS website.
